Audio Architect

Audio Architect is a modular audio synthesiser for Windows which I wrote a few years back when I was working for AudioSoftware Ltd. It is limited in many ways by today's standards, but is still capable of some very powerful sounds and has a few features that, as far as I know, are not available on any other software synth. Since the company folded, all rights to the code have reverted to me and since I don't have the time to maintain it as a commercial product, I'm making it freely distributable.

If you want to hear a demo, this track has a lot of AudioArchitect on it.

I haven't done any serious work on the program for a number of years now, but I do tweak a few things occasionally, adding the odd module as the mood takes me. However, I'm not likely to make any major changes to the core of the program, especially the UI side of things. (I'd like to fix a lot of UI shortcomings, but the whole thing is written using MFC, which I hate working with, so I can't face it. One day I'll write a new modular and I'll do it using Qt, which is lovely).

There is no installer for the application since I don't have the time to maintain one; just unzip the package into a suitable directory and it should work for you. Similarly. the help file is no longer up-to-date and will not be maintained; if you have questions, send me an email. On the plus side, because this program was originally written to run on the Pentium, it screams on today's machines.

There some other sites from which you can download AudioArchitect, but none of them have anything remotely like the current version, and a couple of the old versions are unstable. If you want to use the program then get it here.
